July 8 – Thomas Hardeye Game 7

Posted on July 11, 2019July 23, 2019

The Thomas Hardeye schools dates back to 1579. Its a public secondary academy school with a sixth form enrolment of 700.

The day starts out with a bit of a mix up, after wandering around Bath for the morning we ask google maps to take us to the wrong school. Which it is in the process of doing, when Deb verbalises what I was thinking, that the trip was a lot longer than we had thought. Checking again, we realise our mistake and that we have spent 20 minutes heading in the wrong direction. Another 5 minutes to find somewhere to turn around and we are now an hour late getting to the school. After wandering around the school, to the bemusement of the students, we eventually find the cricket fields, only to find that the Newington development team are playing at the school and Aaron’s team is at a local cricket club. So off we go again.

We eventually arrive very late. Newington are batting but Aaron is down the order so doesn’t get a bat.

The first over he bowls is OK.

The second is crap and that’s the end of him for the day. 1-20 of 2.

By now its 5 pm, so Deb and I head off for Portsmouth.

Newington loose in a tight one.
