Friday 28 June – And he is away

Posted on June 28, 2019June 29, 2019

Well the past few days have been hectic again. We had a small hiccup on with Deb on Tuesday resulting in a hospital stay Wednesday night. All good now though. Wednesday night was packing night and without Deb was left to the two men. Needless to say Aaron and I had a great time, but the packing was a disaster.

Thursday, one more sleep. Its getting real now and he still hasn’t packed.

Bronte joined us for a light dinner, with Deb suddenly on a restricted diet it wasn’t the meal we had planned, but no matter. While its getting exciting for everyone, we all feel for Bronte right now. Not only is she losing her boy for three weeks, she also should have been heading of to the UK these holidays. Cambridge University offers a summer school program, with 80 fee paying and 10 scholarship places open to students from all around the world and Bronte won a scholarship. She would have been living and studying on campus for two weeks with talented international students. But it wasn’t to be, needing to be in the first or second intakes, she was placed in the last and being just before year 11 exams her school said no. Terribly disappointing for Bronte and her family but I suspect a harbinger of her potential.

Friday and big day has arrived.

I’m not sure if Aaron is more excited about heading off on tour or missing a day of school with a bonus sleep in. Eventually he surfaced and the day got underway.

Bags, packed and blazer on.

Then we were off to the airport.

The boys all keyed up and ready to go. Aaron is back row with his arms around two team mates.

But he hasn’t really gone until he has flown past his home. Deb was out on the back deck to wave him off, not sure if he waved back though.

OK. Now he has gone. Have fun champ. Be safe.
